Bosses at the Port of Troon say difficulties the MV Isle of Arran faced berthing at Troon last Monday do not alter the fact it is a more resilient harbour.
They admit the vessel had a ‘challenging berth’ in a force 10 gale after pictures showing it being pushed by a tug away from the harbour wall at Troon were published.
But Associated British Ports say the boat had been forced to go there as it wasn’t safe for her to stay tied up alongside Ardrossan harbour.
