Some time ago, the Arran Banner produced the publication of an unforgettable letter from a young girl expressing her disgust at the condition of the public toilet she used. I have seldom felt so sad and ashamed of my generation at being in charge of allowing hygienic conditions to sink to such a low level during the 21st century. Of course I have experienced the feeling in Glasgow.

On my recent visit, I had to embarrassingly use the Brodick toilet. I washed my hands elsewhere. The Sannox toilets were padlocked. Then, so thankful for the excellent Arran Active toilet.
