David Rudisha: ran a world record when winning the 800m gold in London
FOUR years ago David Rudisha produced the performance of the Games with his world record 1:40.91 but, despite a 2015 world title, he has lost his status of invincibility.
He is still the favourite but, while most events only have half a dozen genuine medal contenders, any of around 25 are capable of winning medals in the right tactical race. Among them, European bronze medallist Elliot Giles would do well to even make the semi-finals in his first global event.
