Toyota’s striking FT-Se concept previews the first electric sports car from the firm’s Gazoo Racing performance division, with the new EV taking shape as a spiritual successor to the legendary MR2.
Presenting the concept in Tokyo, Toyota CEO Koji Sato vowed the eventual production version would be small, low, light and fun, suggesting its driving characteristics will feel unlike those of anything else on the road today.
A development of the unnamed MR2-sized concept that Toyota revealed in late 2021, the FT-Se prioritises “handling stability and aerodynamic performance”.
