In July last year, the time came to replace my beloved Suzuki Jimny with something safer, more practical and capable of completing longer journeys without fear of being rocked around by a sneeze at the side of the road. After some deliberation, I bought an immaculate 2018 BMW 1 Series – a 118i Sport with a cloth interior and a manual gearbox.
