Would Stroll ever consider signing Sir Lewis Hamilton, who is now 36 and has just inked a new two-year deal at Mercedes? “Absolutely. You would have to be crazy not to want to have Lewis drive for you.”
“Some £5 part” caused an embarrassing breakdown of the long-awaited Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed. But Stroll says the roll-out is on schedule: “As I promised, we will start delivering cars in September. That’s very much on time.”
Stroll insists the fans are already on side: “This brand is exceptional, with its 107-year history. The level of support through social media since we returned to F1, even before we turned the first wheel, was very impressive. It’s more than I ever dreamed of at this stage.”
