DAVID TIZZARD “I have a 2012-reg Twizy with 19,000 miles on the clock. I bought it seven years ago and, after paying the battery lease for a few months, bought it outright from the lease company for £900. I’ve since fitted a Powerbox that offers different levels of performance, regeneration and battery recharge and lets you communicate with the car via your smartphone. After 12 years, the battery is showing 94% capacity, which I’m pleased with. The car is like a go-kart: the steering is quick and it corners flat but the ride is very unforgiving. However, of all the things I’ve bought, the Twizy is the best and insurance is just £250 fully comp.”
