WHY WE’RE RUNNING IT To find out if Honda’s new SUV can take on the Nissan Qashqai while maintaining the charms of the Civic it’s based on
On its website, Honda variously describes the ZR-V as ‘sporty’ and ‘dynamic’ – which aren’t necessarily words you would always associate with a hybridpowered family SUV. But if you look at Honda’s YouTube channel, you can find a short video in which Max Verstappen – you know, the triple Formula 1 champion – makes the ZR-V look very sporty and dynamic indeed when driving one through the mountains above Monaco. Since it arrived, I’ve mostly enjoyed the ZR-V for its relaxed driving manner, easy handling and effortless comfort and convenience. I usually flick it into Eco mode and just cruise along happily. So recently I’ve focused on trying to gauge the ZR-V’s sporty and dynamic qualities.
