Breakfast in bed can be a luxurious treat (even if it’s just tea and toast!), especially when served up on a vintage breakfast tray that you’ve made yourself. Upcycling broken photo frames and old books keeps them out of landfill and allows you to create a unique tray that you’ll use time and time again. You can use a frame of any size, as long as the edges are deep enough to screw in some handles. And you don’t have to stick to books either – tissue paper, used gift wrap, unwanted newspapers, vintage magazines or even thin fabrics all make great decoupage materials. The method remains the same, so you can get as creative as you like and personalise to suit your tastes.
