Why you should visit a show home
Nobody wants to buy a pig in a poke. Especially when it comes to a life-changing event like building your own home. So having the opportunity to see, feel and sense if a house is right for you – before taking the leap – is essential.
When buying off-plan you can never be sure that the quality and layout are exactly what you had in mind. Nor can you realistically envisage the house’s ambience, convenience or suitability for your lifestyle.
One of the main reasons that Dan-Wood customers visit a show home is to see first hand the quality and finish of the construction. Dan-Wood builds modular timber frame houses, so there’s sometimes a perception that they won’t last in the same way that brick and block will. Not true – and I often ask visitors to bang on the walls. The 500mm thick thermally insulated walls exceed the U-value of current UK Building Regulations and are not only built to last but will readily withstand Britain’s unpredictable weather. And what better way to be convinced than by seeing, feeling and testing out those walls to your heart’s content?
