Members of the McCorkindale School of Highland Dancing, including its owner James McCorkindale, receive a £1,000 cheque from Billy Gilchrist, son of the chairman of Campbeltown Loyal Rangers Supporters Club, as well as its treasurer Callum Semple (extreme right) and committee member Dick McFadzean (extreme left).
Campbeltown Loyal Rangers Supporters Club presented two cheques for £1,000 each to young Highland dancers and a palliative care unit at Campbeltown hospital on Monday. One half of the money, all raised by the club’s annual charity match on Saturday August 25, will pay for new soft furnishings in the Sunroom, a palliative care suite at the hospital, to create a more homely environment for patients. Macmillan nurse Maggie Wilkieson expressed their gratitude to the club.
Meanwhile the other half was donated to the McCorkindale School of Highland Dancing, ahead of a trip to compete in the American championships in Las Vegas next July.
