WEST KINTYRE community council will make an application to the Wind Farm Trust for funds in order to purchase and install six defibrillators in villages throughout the area.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest, and could prove potentially life-saving for residents in Kintyre’s more remote areas due to the distance they are from the nearest hospitals.
Whitehouse, Clachan, Tayinloan, Muasdale, Glenbarr and Bellochantuy could be set to have their own publicly accessible devices installed.
