A FIFE farmer broke his own record twice, selling heifers with calves at foot, on Monday, at Caledonian Marts’ show and sale.
Craig Malone, from Pitcairn, Cardenden, surpassed the £5,800 top price he set in October 2012, selling one heifer and calf for an astounding £7,100 and a Limousin x, which was judged by Richard Wilson, Wairds of Alpity, Arbuthnott, as champion heifer with calf at foot, for £6,400.
Mr Malone’s consignment of 11 heifers and calves averaged £3,936.
