Scores will be updated as they happen at CPSA registered shoots, thanks to new software developed by the CPSA. The association say they are ready to start rolling out their new scoring solution over the next twelve months. Called simply ‘Shoot’, the new system replaces the Shoot08 program that has been used for the past twelve years to regulate CPSA registered scores and classifications. The most visible change will be real-time update of scores, but “it will be a leap forward into exciting live scoring capabilities, as well as improving many behind-the-scenes functions such as fixtures scheduling and classification management,” they say.
Manual scorecards could become a thing of the past as scoring goes electronic
Shoot will be available for laptop, desktop, tablets, and mobiles that will be able to run on a ground’s wi-fiand sync to live leaderboards on site as well as submitting the scores instantly to CPSA HQ. Eventually, at CPSA major championships, and at grounds that invest in the kit, referees will be able to enter scores as they happen - and each hit or miss will appear live on the leaderboards provided the necessary connectivity is available. Further developments will see a mobile app created that can use mobile data to upload scores.
The ref will register each hit or miss at the stand on a mobile phone or tablet. This screenshot is a test using fictitious data

The CPSA adds “We are pleased to be bringing this new administration solution to the clay shooting world. We will be collecting feedback to continuously improve it and will use this to develop and release new versions to keep it up to date in the coming months and years, enhancing the future of our sport.”
