Similar to WinDirStat (www.snipca.com/52543 – see Issue 696, page 18), TreeSize is a disk-space analyser that reveals which files and folders take up the most room on your PC. Unlike that program, it offers a choice of Free, Personal and Professional editions, with the latter aimed at businesses. Unsurprisingly, TreeSize Free is the simplest to use, automatically scanning your main hard drive to detect how much space files and folders are consuming. It displays its results as both a list of items (from largest to smallest) and a ‘tree map’ that presents the information visually in the form of proportionately sized blocks – click the View tab then Show Treemap Chart to see this.
