Why can’t I download Tor browser?
Q
I’ve tried downloading the
Tor
browser as you recommended in Issue 695’s Cover Feature ‘Why you must use Tor’. However, I always get the same error message: ‘Secure Connection Failed. An error occurred…’. The message advises that I ‘contact the website owners to inform them of the problem’, but as Firefox or Norton won’t let me contact Tor, this will be difficult. Any suggestions?

We’re not entirely sure whether
you can’t access the Tor website through Firefox, or any websites
through Firefox when Tor is running. We’ll tackle both problems. Firefox shows this error when it can’t establish a secure connection with a web page. However, Firefox isn’t blocking you from downloading Tor. We tested this by using Firefox to visit the URL we gave for Tor in Issue 695 (
