Why I didn’t upgrade to Windows 11
In Issue 702’s ‘Question of the Fortnight’ (pictured below right) you say “Windows 10 users won’t make the leap to 11 if they think Windows 12 is on the horizon”. Spot on.
Indeed, that describes my attitude in 2022, when Computeractive first reported rumours of Windows 12. I had been considering upgrading my PC from 10 to 11, but thought there was little point if version 12 was imminent.
More than two years later, and with no sign of Windows 12, I wish I had upgraded. I’m still using Windows 10 and have no choice but to upgrade before Microsoft ends support in October. I hope you’ll publish a full guide on how to do this so we’re not left high and dry.

CA SAYS Yes, we’ll explain what you have to do to upgrade, and indeed how you can carry on using Windows 10 safely. 2025 is set to be the most important year for PC users since 2015, when Microsoft launched Windows 10. We’ll be with you every step of the way.
BBC should be worried about rise of Netflix
In your story on Netflix overtaking the BBC for the first time (Issue 702, page 7) you quote a BBC spokesman saying it’s “meaningless” to compare it with an “entire subscription video on demand service” like Netflix. On a purely technical point he’s probably right, but it sounds complacent.
Viewers don’t think like that anyway. They’re not going to say, “Well, I’ve had enough of watching an ‘entire subscription video on demand service’ this week – I need some licence fee-funded public service broadcasting’ instead”.
