BenQ GW2490
Cheap thrills
What is this monitor’s biggest selling point? Probably its price – the BenQ GW2490 is the cheapest 24in display we’ve ever reviewed. At just £90 we can forgive the fact that it offers few luxuries, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t impressed with what you do get.
For the low price, it offers a surpringly good screen and well-designed controls
Putting the monitor together is a breeze. The basic, plasticky stand comes in two parts and simply slots together, clicking into place with no tools or screws required. There’s no height adjustment, but the stand tilts back and forth so you can secure the angle that suits you. The borders of the screen are black plastic, but it doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap, and the whole thing looks surprisingly attractive.
