IT’S AN ALL-OUT DIESEL INVASION!

When you hear of 4x4s rock crawling through off-camber, rocky terrain filled with steep-approach obstacles, what comes to mind? Do you think of giant fullsize crew cab diesel trucks, or do you think of the Jeep or Bronco that’s usually being towed behind the diesel truck? Us too. But to our delight, that’s no longer the case—at least not the sole case. Now, there is a crew of fullsize guys joining the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab every year, and their ranks are filled with fullsizes of all kinds—including some extremely impressive diesel trucks! They hit the trails together all week, loosely organized by some fullsize enthusiasts who may or may not be associated with auto media. And for the last couple years the Fullsize Invasion has put a call out to flip the script on normal 4x4 activities for a day and for people to bring their haulers out to hit the trails. While it’s exciting to run with a bunch of built fullsizes over tough trails all week in Moab, we really look forward to the Diesel Invasion day that even brings out some stock diesel trucks! This year’s diesel run took place on the Fins N’ Things trail, and it was awesome to see a horde of diesels take over the trail. While it is by no means the hardest trail in Moab, Fins N’ Things offers great views and is wide enough to scoot even the biggest diesels down the trail as it challenges them to climbs normally done with a whole lot less overhang. If you’re not doing anything the week before Easter, the fullsize guys meet in Moab annually, with the intent to remind enthusiasts that a little individuality in their 4x4 builds can be a good thing!
