While cameras come and go, lenses tend to stay with us a lot longer. Indeed, some of our favourites take up full-time residence in our kit bags and deserve a lifetime service award. That said, the rise in mirrorless cameras has brought a shift in lens design. The major players have concentrated on creating new lenses to take advantage of the optical enhancements.
The last couple of years have brought unprecedented challenges to every step of the process, but lens creators have still managed to serve up a feast of new optics that cater to every genre of photography, from landscapes and architecture to portraiture, and from extreme close-ups to long-range wildlife and sports photography.
