It’s been a few months using and abusing the TCX Comp Evo 2 boots and so far, it’s all smiles! The TCX boots did take a little longer to bed in than other boots I have worn, but I don’t feel that’s the worst thing in the world. As they’re fairly solid boots, I do look at that as a positive when it comes to protection. I’ve had TCX boots in the past and I felt like the toe box was a tad big, even once they were bedded in, so this time around I went a size smaller and I feel like it’s made the boots a lot more comfortable for me and I have a better feel of the controls. A lot of boots nowadays are designed to have incredible feel on the bike — this is super important, but so is protection. If I ride on the weekend, I need to be safe to go to work on Monday. That’s where the TCX boots get a big tick. There’s a polyurethane toe box which offers some really good protection but is shaped well for shifting. The double flex control system helps with movement while the heal reinforcement is another tick for safety. The Michelin hybrid MX soles are looking brand new after a fair amount of punishment too.
