There’s something I’ve been dancing around for the last few months, unsure whether or not broaching it as part of an article will be of any use to readers, or to myself. However, with this month’s theme, it seems itting to open up a little bit with you all. I have cancer. I was diagnosed in September, and as I write this am on my third round of chemotherapy. The prognosis is good, but the journey has been a rollercoaster.
It has been a very illuminating experience so far, forcing me to rethink the way in which I view myself, my body, my control over it and my mental health in the face of endless medical procedures and existential uncertainty.
