If you google “scissoring”, you’ll come across countless Reddit threads asking the same question: “Is scissoring real?” The responses vary, but a common refrain is: “No, scissoring is not real, and was invented by boy-run media (i.e. porn) for their own pleasure, not ours.” Some folks chime in saying they’ve tried it, but it just doesn’t work. “It’s awkward, inefficient and a good way to kick someone in the face,” writes one lesbian commenter. Another writes: “It’s a thing I think most lesbians try once, and realise it’s silly and ineffective, and then we laugh and never do it again.”
