Yes, we could write chapters about hair styles but instead we are focusing on hair in other places. From handlebar-moustachioed leather clones to bearded hipsters, facial hair can effectively telegraph our queerness (until the straight dudes catch up) and allow us to emphasise (and subvert) notions of masculinity. And below the chin, well, fur is de rigueur. The ’90s may have wanted us to be smooth but naturally hairy bodies are back in. If you’re not looking for a daddy try an otter, wolf of bear, oh my! Though, whatever the decade, avoid the follicular faux pas of growing it on your back.
