A ndrew, Colin and Phil were all inspired by commercial artists they admired in their youth. “I was highly influenced by master illustrator Ron Embleton,” says Andrew. “He’s known for so much, including his classic Wulf the Briton strip in Express Weekly, as well as Stingray and Captain Scarlet in TV Century 21. What stood out for me was his modelling of skin tones; his figure drawing was also something I admired. He was incredibly quick, never laboured, yet produced results that suggested the opposite.”
