‘‘Growing up in Brixton and then Essex, all I’d do is watch TV,” says Moses Ogundeji. “My mother would say to me, ‘Is TV going to be your life?!’ I would never speak back to her, but I’d dream of making it to the kind of role I have now.” Moses studied film production at Staffordshire University, then worked as a trainee before getting his big break on Doctor Who last year. “Now I’m here, working in TV, it brings me joy every day. It could be raining or snowing – but I’m happy!”
Did Moses always hope to work on Doctor Who? “Um, as a youngster I never really got into it!” What?! “Yeah, I know. I always watched American TV: Sunset Beach, Saved by the Bell, Clarissa Explains It All, Charmed and Touched by an Angel… But I’d be a fool not to want to watch Doctor Who now! I am in awe.”
