ON GALLIFREY, A TIME LORD SECRETLY COLLUDES with a masked figure to steal the Doctor’s bio-data extract, which they deploy in a failed attempt at ‘temporal bonding’.

The High Council of Time Lords is alerted to the presence of an antimatter creature, whose location is shielded from them. According to the Doctor, the only force capable of shielding antimatter is quad magnetism, created by the collapse of a Q star in an area known as the Arc of Infinity – a naturally occurring ‘gateway to the dimensions’. The Time Lords fear the antimatter could cause disaster, and conclude that their only course of action is to execute the Doctor before the creature can complete its mission to bond with him.

About Doctor Who Magazine

The Doctor’s own people, and his home planet, were introduced in 1969 as a major chapter in the series’ history came to an end. Five decades later, the Time Lords and their devastating war with the Daleks are still essential parts of Doctor Who’s mythology. This special publication analyses every story set on Gallifrey, reveals previously unseen images from the making of the episodes and interviews key players in the Time Lords’ fascinating story.
