it was in 2016 that Anne McDermott and her husband David bought the Mountfield kit from Dolls House Emporium. However, it was to be a few years before it was finally completed, sadly due to a whole series of issues with Anne’s health. This meant that there were periods when the house was simply waiting quietly in the wings, hoping that eventually it would be ready for occupation. Slowly, like a butterfly emerging from its sleep, the Mountfield eventually revealed all its glory, seen here from the lovely photographs.
When the kit arrived Anne and David started to put the walls together, but then came the first health delay which resulted in major surgery. During recovery Anne did a lot of pondering about how to install electrics in a double-sided house, and she began thinking about the decor and the likely family. In 2020 Anne became ill again, and she and her husband had to shield during the pandemic, which seemed the right time to re-look at the Mountfield.
