Commando Log ist ic Regiment RM
CT1 on Braunton Burrows
Mne Matthews-Stroud, V Sqn
Transport Tp from V Sqn recently traded transport tasks for tactics as they deployed to the rugged dunes of Braunton Burrows for their CT1 exercise. Over three demanding days, the Troop put their soldiering skills to the test, proving once again that they’re just as capable on their feet as they are behind the wheel.
The exercise saw the ranks tackle a packed programme of battle casualty drills, harbour routines, reconnaissance patrols and direct actions. Every serial was designed to test nerve, decision-making and Tp cohesion in what can be an unforgiving environment.
It wasn’t all about sharpening their own drills. Transport Troop stepped up as instructors, with several ranks delivering field lessons to less experienced counterparts within the Sqn. This valuable experience allowed them to pass on their knowledge and uphold the high standards expected across the Unit.
