According to her husband, former England rugby union and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Mike, Zara Tindall is “a great mum” who hates being parted from her children. Luckily, on a recent trip to Cheltenham Racecourse, she didn’t have to be, as her eldest daughter, nineyear-old Mia, came along for the ride.
Attending the second day of the April race meeting, the pair (left) looked happy to be enjoying the spring sunshine as well as the racing action. They were accompanied by Mia’s godmother Dolly Maude (together right), a close family friend who was maid of honour at Zara and Mike’s 2011 wedding.
A talented equestrian like her mother the Princess Royal and grandmother the late Queen, Zara is a regular at Cheltenham and was appointed to the racecourse’s committee in 2019. “I’m passionate about horse racing, especially on the jumps side, and the pinnacle of that is Cheltenham,” she has said. “Racing is the most exciting sport.”
