As
Catherine Tyldesley well knows, young children are like sponges, picking up on everything they see around them. And that was certainly the case when the actress and mum of two was perfecting a Southern American drawl for her new role in the musical Bonnie &Clyde,, under the watchful eye of her one-year-old daughter Iris.
“We had been trying to teach Iris to say: ‘Bye-bye.’ Then, when I started working in a Texas accent, all of a sudden, she started saying: ‘Baa-baa,’ in a Southern accent. It was the cutest thing,” says Catherine, 40, who is playing Blanche Barrow in the musical’s UK tour, which begins next month.
