There is nothing like finding a bargain
It took a holiday to Greece and a house-sitting in-law to find Tamasyn Gambell her home, which is full of pattern, colour and vintage buys
Tamasyn used the big back wall to showcase her favourite wallpaper, which is accented beautifully by her vintage larder cupboard
Good idea
A roller blind allows you to reveal the full length of your window and draw in every inch of natural light
Tamasyn opened up this space to create a living and dining space. ‘Meal times around the table are important to us as a family, and we love to entertain too. The space is very adaptable as we can push the sofa to one side for large parties’
Good idea
Display small and fragile trinkets inside glass cabinets to keep them safe
Making
Upcycle a tired coffee table into a cool retro design on page 51
Picked up at a vintage fair in Sussex, Tamasyn re-painted the larder unit yellow and wallpapered the inside
My story...
Tamasyn’s home is packed full with antique pieces and second-hand treasures. ‘I love the thrill of a vintage find!’ she beams. ‘There is nothing like finding a bargain’
Jamie’s mother actually found our flat. We were at our wits end after seeing so many dingy properties and were beginning to think we would never get anywhere, so we upped sticks and went on holiday to Greece. Jamie’s mum came to stay in our(then) flat and was on a mission to find us a place – and she did! Its previous owners had a lot of furniture and the rooms felt cluttered, but we saw its potential straight away and loved that it had outdoor space.
