The story of Berber horses is inseparably connected with the Atlas Mountains and its residents. As long as anyone can remember, they have been an integral part of the landscape of the Maghreb. Their kingdom extends from Mauritania through Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia to Libya.
Before our era, the Berber (also known as the Barb) horse was the steed of numerous tribes. Depending on the need, it played the role of a work mount and a pack and war horse.
