Align audio to Logic’s grid
A useful trick for remixing or learning chords, melodies and solos
Logic Pro is an incredibly powerful piece of software, capable of pretty much every music production task under the sun. One use for it you may not have thought of, however, is to use it as a practice aid when learning an instrument. Say you want to improve your skills by learning the guitar solo from a song, or working out the chord progression from a particularly tricky piano section so that you can play along. This is where the ability to line up a piece of prerecorded audio to Logic’s timing grid can pay dividends, as you’ll then be able to quickly and easily loop individual parts of the tune, then slow them down at will – crucially, while maintaining the correct pitch – simply by adjusting the project tempo.
