Guitar effects come in two varieties, the stomp box and the expression pedal.The latter allows for more technique during a performance. GarageBand models several of these within its Pedalboard plugin, including Wham (whammy) and wah-wah (x2) units. The Wham is used to make ‘dive bombs’ or sweeping detune effects, depending on pedal position. The wah pedals alternate rock between treble and bass tone to create a quacklike, vocal guitar effect. However, we must use some automation. Automation curves can be drawn to set the pedal position dynamically across a track and shape the sound.
