THE HONOR BLACKMAN YEARS

I’m a massive fan of TV’s The Avengers and it’s nice to think that the show still has such a huge cult following today. My good pal Steve Kirkham knows that, and he has just sent me a copy of a hugely impressive door-stopper of a hardback book entitled The Avengers - The Honor Blackman Years, a limited edition volume that will surely have any Avengers fan salivating, like the late Miss Blackman herself of course, and this book is also simply gorgeous.

Having worked on several trading card sets of The Avengers and also produced a sold-out book on David Bowie’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, Steve decided to take another deep dive into the StudioCanal archives for this remarkable volume. Printed on top quality paper which gives superb image reproduction, this is just packed with amazing stills and background information. It encouraged me to dig out my old French ‘red telephone box’ set of Honor Blackman shows to watch in conjunction with some of the amazing behind-the-scenes images and publicity material.

500 copies have been printed, and 300 of these were signed by Honor Blackman, who autographed the book plates before her passing. There are also 200 numbered standard editions, which are available on a first come, first served basis. As expected they are not cheap, but you can make savings if buying direct from www.unstoppable-cards.myshopify.com. As of time of writing the standard edition is £100 and the signature edition is £149.25 per book. I really would recommend this one -it’s probably already selling for silly money on Ebay!
