Dear Allan,

I enjoyed Molesworth’s Musings about The Doctor Who Appreciation Society in issue 84. I joined in 1977 and went to the weekend convention in 1978. I asked Jon Pertwee what the backward talk was in The Time Monster and he replied in backward talk! There I saw the 2nd episode shown on 30/11/63 which I hadn’t seen.

In the 80’s I saw Patrick Troughton at the Brighton convention and once when I was in Birmingham Pat was doing an anti litter campaign along with Bonnie Langford (see photo above).

I had some happy times and we later got a Nottingham local group were we watched old episodes etc in people’s homes.

Seems like some great memories, Trevor. I must admit that I was unaware of the group but it does seem strange they are not sticking around when support for the Doctor Who world still seems pretty strong. I guess, as Richard said, we’ll have to wait and see whether Disney loses interest in the brand or not.
