PRISTINE PLOTTERS v PATCHY PLOTTERS
There are two types of allotment holder, says Emma Rawlings. Here she takes a light-hearted look at what makes them both tick and why they can’t always see eye to eye

Allotments are all about people. There are plants thrown in for good measure but allotments are a gathering of gardeners and when you have that you can have great camaraderie but you can also have conflict. Fortunately, most allotments are a hotbed of peace and love with everyone helping each other but occasionally there can be angst among plotters, especially when you have two different types of plotter as neighbours. I will call them the Pristine Plotter and the Patchy Plotter. There is a scale of extremes for these two plotters (see below) and all of us fit on the scale somewhere. But where do you come and how does it affect you and your allotment neighbour?
