Knit Now  |  Knit Now 105
Welcome to the high-summer issue of Knit Now. We’re looking a little way south and a long way back this month. Ancient Rome, Greece, Egypt and beyond provide oodles of inspiration for warm-weather palettes and textures, like the hieroglyph-style ibis cowl that’s also a great opportunity to flex your stranded colour work muscles!
I love the Nefertum Shawl, which is such an elegant piece for summer evening. The Pharaoh Top combines strong colour and striking pattern to stylish effect – and the short sleeve make it summer friendly. And that’s not all we have in lovely lightweight knits. The Brighton Beach Top works well with jeans, but – if the weather holds up – also makes a chic cover-up b the sea. The Regain and Berry Vine cardigans are simply perfect for throwing round your shoulders on summer nights.
We haven’t forgotten about the little ones either – I think you’ll agree that our unisex Ladybird Cardigan is beyond adorable, and don’t the Toni & Tina Triceratops toys in delicious ice-cream shades look good enough to eat?
Don’t worry if you’re not ready to cast on yet, there’s plenty to read first. We’re charting to Julie Dubreux from Julie Knits in Paris and Jessica James from Ginger Twist Studio. Julie’s mantra is ‘a splash of colour a day keeps the doctor away’ and I’m totally on board – check out this issue’s pattern picks for some colourful inspiration.
Happy knitting,
Kate
