Berthe Morisot At the Ball, 1875, oil on canvas, 25½x20½in (65x52cm)
The spring exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, London, focuses on the work of renowned Impressionist Berthe Morisot. In partnership with the Musée Marmottan in Paris, the exhibition brings together over 30 paintings by the artist, who was known for her glimpses of contemporary life and intimate domestic settings. The exhibition draws on new research and previously unpublished archival material that traces the roots of Morisot’s inspiration and reveals the ways in which she engaged with 18th-century themes. Her work will be shown alongside the 18thcentury art that inspired her.
