‘La Calavera Catrina’ is a stock figure across ___________ during the country’s Día de ___________ (Day of the Dead) celebrations culminating on 2 November. Originally a cartoon showing just the grinning skull and expensive hat, the theme was developed by the artist Diego Rivera. One of his murals has Catrina standing beside his wife and fellow painter ___________, who was played (with added monobrow) by Salma Hayek in a 2002 biopic. The joyously macabre festival has shot up in global fame, and formed the backdrop to the opening sequence of the most recent Bond film, ___________. But it has long been marked by families setting up memorial altars to deceased loved ones, with offerings of food, and perhaps bottles of tequila or its fellow agave-based spirit ___________. Traditionally, only the latter may contain a pickled ‘worm’.
