device has an existing Wi-Fi, cellular, or Ethernet internet connection, you can share this wirelessly via Windows’ Mobile Hotspot.
This is particularly useful if you’re in a situation where the Wi-Fi card antenna in your laptop or PC can connect to the network without issue, but other devices, like cellphones, struggle to maintain a strong signal. In this case, you can generate a mobile hotspot to which other nearby devices can connect and take advantage of your Windows device’s stronger internet connection.
If your Windows machine connects directly via Ethernet, but has an internal wireless card, you can use the Mobile Motspot feature to generate a wireless network to share the connection with other devices.
