Lovers of generic metal will fall head over heels in love with Arrival Of Autumn’s second album. But for those who enjoy a bit more sonic depth, the Albertans fall short. Stale guitar riffs are churned out alongside a thunderous drumbeat that refuses to give the rest of the music space to breathe. Lifelong friends vocalist Jamison Friesen and guitarist Brendan Anderson have harboured a lot of their teen angst and managed to release it under the Nuclear Blast label in a careless, mundane package. Tracks such as Ghosts and Burn bleed into one another with no distinction, and before long it’s easy to switch off, feeling uninspired. ■■■■■■■■■■
