Larry, Moe and Curly are no strangers to massive prices when it comes to their iconic Fleer set. In case you need more evidence, there was plenty of it in Goldin Auctions’ Late Summer Auction. The sale featured more than 100 lots of 1959 Fleer Three Stooges cards, all high-grade. Leading the way was a complete master set netting $31,200 including the three checklist variations. Ranked as the 21st top set on the PSA Set Registry, 84 of the 99 cards have Mint 9 grades.
As for the individual card sales, there were plenty reaching the four-figure mark. Two—a PSA 8 copy of card #1 and a PSA 9 checklist back of #16—led the way with $7,200 sales. An extremely scarce three-card Salesman Sample Advertising Panel sold for $3,690
