AN ESTRANGED member of a Tiree man’s family telephoned the police and told them he was over the drink-drive limit and behind the wheel, Oban Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday.
As a result, officers traced Allan MacCallum, 46, of 5 Club Farm, Balemartine, and stopped him on the B8065 near Bough on August 16 last year.
An initial breath test proved positive and a blood sample later showed a level of 149 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, when the legal limit in Scotland is 50.
