IT’S ‘BUZZINESS’ as usual for a group of women in north Skye. The Trotternish Queen Bees is a new social group for ladies which has risen from the ashes of the Trotternish branch of the Scottish Women’s Institute, which closed its doors earlier in the month.
The Queen Bees held its first meeting on September 11 when they set up a constitution and elected three office bearers – Sylvia Porter, chairman; Elizabeth Blair, treasurer; and Claire Irons, secretary - who are currently scheduling events for the year.
Claire explained: ‘We all belonged to the Trotternish Women’s Institute but our members were finding it increasingly difficult to access courses, quizzes and social events from such a remote part of Scotland.
