AIR ambulance landings will continue on Easdale while the Scottish Ambulance Service investigates if the current helipad is safe or it searches for another site.
The suitability of the island’s helipad for medical emergency evacuations was brought into question more than a fortnight ago because, The Oban Times understands, it may be on top of septic tanks.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) confirmed it ‘had not suspended air ambulance operations to Easdale. If called to attend an emergency, we would send a helicopter as we have done several times over the past year.
