Big River Man “…something like a fever dream in the jungle, something utterly mad, utterly courageous…” Werner Herzog was talking about his film ‘Aguirre, the wrath of God’, a historical drama set on the Amazon River. Equally he could have been describing Martin Strel’s swim down the Amazon that was captured in ‘Big River Man’. Both films radiate with intensity from their central characters as well as the vast river that consumes them.
