So, another famous name in UK caravanning passes into foreign ownership. Coachman’s acquisition by Kabe follows what was the Explorer Group (comprising Xplore, Elddis, Compass and Buccaneer) being sold to the Erwin Hymer Group in 2017. Widen your view to include motorhomes and the tally of takeovers is even higher. But it is, I think, a good sign. Kabe, which first took a stake in Coachman two years ago, is clearly impressed with what it sees. This suggests that in this post-Brexit world, there is much about UK caravanning that overseas players still want a part of.
