LYLE WORKMAN
Over almost 40 years, the US guitarist has followed a very eclectic musical path. He discusses a career ranging from pop-rock with Bourgeois Tagg, backing Todd Rundgren, touring with Beck and even playing Live 8 with Sting, to film and TV work and his own solo albums.

The diversity of Lyle Workman’s career is remarkable. In the mid-80s, he made his recorded debut on Bourgeois Tagg’s eponymous first album – their second, Yoyo, was produced by Todd Rundgren and yielded a Top 40 hit in the United States and UK with I Don’t Mind At All. Subsequently, aside from appearing on the revered Spilt Milk album by Jellyfish, Workman has played as a sideman with some of the biggest names in music. In recent years he’s built a significant reputation writing music for film and TV but has also found time to record several solo albums. His recently released Uncommon Measures sports plenty of prog and fusion influences from his youth.
